Liquid Feed
Westway's Molasses and Liquid Feed Department uses pure sugar cane molasses, an important by-product of sugar cane processing, to produce Suga-Lik® brand feed products. Pure sugar cane molasses is an excellent source of readily available and digestible carbohydrates (sugars), which is the basis of its feed value. In contrast to cereal grains, sugar cane molasses contains a significant amount of calcium, potassium, magnesium and sulfur. It can also contain naturally occurring B-vitamins. Sugar cane molasses is known to increase the palatability of various types of feed rations and can significantly reduce the dustiness and segregation of the ingredients of many rations.
Some people object to the thought of using liquid supplements because of the term “liquid”. To them, the idea of hauling and feeding water makes little sense. Fact is, we agree! Suga-Lik® products contain much more dry matter than silage or, for that matter, pasture. A substance which is a liquid does not necessarily make it high in moisture. To understand this concept, consider liquid cooking oil, which typically contains less than one percent moisture.
Suga-Lik® liquid supplements are the leading choice of cattlemen in the Southeastern United States for their beef herds’ pasture supplements. Suga-Lik® products are also extensively used as a supplement in total mixed rations for dairy cattle. Over one hundred different formula Suga-Lik® products are researched, developed, formulated and manufactured by Westway. They include products intended for use as pasture supplements, as well as products to be blended into mixed rations for both beef and dairy cattle. In addition, the Company offers special mill mix products for use by commercial feed manufacturers.

The Suga-Lik® Beef Supplement product line is now Fully Fortified®. This means that your forage can be supplemented with one of Westway's Fully-Fortified® Suga-Lik® supplements to provide at least 100% of all the essential nutrients your beef cows require.
Suga-Lik® products are available in truckload and rail tank car quantities. A dealer network throughout the Southeast and other areas of the Eastern United States can provide Suga-Lik® products in smaller quantities and delivery to your feeders.

As an FCI certified feed facility, the Suga-Lik® plant is proud to deliver premium quality feed products. FCI, an independent third-party certification organization for the feed industry, assures compliance with the FDA Feed Rule. The Suga-Lik® plant also has achieved the American Feed Industry Association’s Safe Feed / Safe Food (SF/SF) certification. The business and manufacturing processes meet and/or exceed the standards required by both FCI and SF/SF to help ensure the safety of consumers and animals alike. As a feed manufacturer, Westway's facility and daily procedures have passed rigorous inspections. The FCI and SF/SF inspections are done voluntarily on an annual basis. This FCI and SF/SF seals can provide an added assurance that guarantees customers peace-of-mind.
